About Me
Hi, I’m Abby, a naturopathic nutritional therapist based in Essex with a passion for making nutrition feel simple, achievable and positive.
I work with people who want to improve their health through nutrition without feeling overwhelmed by restrictive rules or the pressure to be perfect. My approach is about finding realistic changes that work for you — taking into account your lifestyle, budget, schedule and individual relationship with food.
My Journey into Nutrition
I didn’t start out with an interest in nutrition, quite the opposite. I had no idea, and to be honest didn’t care about nutrition or health. I worked long hours in retail management, often grabbing whatever food was convenient, until I became burnt out and exhausted from overworking and underfuelling myself. I realised that if I wanted to feel my best and live the life I wanted, I needed to eat real food. I began researching what I needed to eat to improve my energy and overall wellbeing. Seeing the difference in my own health sparked an even greater interest in nutrition.
A family health event became the catalyst for turning my fascination with nutrition into a career. It reinforced to me just how much our diet and lifestyle can influence our health, both now and in the future. So in my early thirties, I went to study to become a nutritional therapist at the College of Naturopathic Medicine in London.
In my free time I love to find good places to eat and spend time outdoors (preferably by the sea) with my one true love, my cocker spaniel. I also do cross stitch which is the perfect way to wind down and quieten my mind.
A Compassionate
Approach to Nutrition
I understand the world of nutrition and wellness can be intimidating and overwhelming. Having studied psychology I’ve developed a compassionate approach. I want people to realise that you deserve to understand how to look after yourself in a way that works for you, whatever that looks like. There is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition. What works brilliantly for one person might not work at all for another.
When we work together, my aim is to give you the knowledge and confidence to make informed diet and lifestyle choices that feel right for you and fit into your everyday life. I look at your health as a whole, recognising the important connection between your physical, mental and emotional wellbeing.
